I'd love to know if you figured out where to get the polyurethane bushings?

Me too! It and I can find them for they Lexus, even 1G LS400, but not anything for my 1996 LS400. Very frustrating.

Default 1990 - 2000 LS400 Differential bushings

Differential bushings on most LS400's are tired- if not by age, then mileage.

The North Ameriican parts diagrams are incomplete on 1998-2000 LS400. (2001-2006 LS430)

Had to source two front lower bushings from Amayama, but was able to source remaining parts from Lexus.

Javier is go to parts guy at McGrath Lexus Chicago who assisted me with numerous differential bushing purchases.

Discontinuations are starting to crop up, so perhaps a quality aftermarket supplier will step up.....

I sure hope so. I mean, with the mechanical elements of these cars being so well-made that so many of these cars are still out there driving around, there should be plenty of demand for these wear-and-tear parts. I did my entire front-end last year. I now just bought a full PSB bushing kit for the rear end to do next. But finding diff/axle carrier bushing/mounts is proving to be oddly challenging.

I guess I'm frustrated when I see that 90-95 LS400 gets them, then LS430 but we get skipped over. Weird...

What symptoms did you get to tell you the diff bushings were shot? I'm chasing something going on with my rear end and want to try and isolate things instead of just "rebuild everything".

I think you're asking me but I can't tell. I'm new to forums.

There's movement in the rear when I drive. Most of that is from the suspension bushings. I also have slack lash when I put it in drive or reverse. I put the car up on jack stands and have someone, with the brake on, move back and forth between D, N and R and back whole I was underneath. I was originally down there you to watch the rear wheels' toe in/out move all over but while under there, I saw the diff moving up and down on the vertical mount. And when j looked at the two horizontal diff mounts, they are cracked and looked shot as well.

This weekend I'm going to go under again and record some of this stuff. My PSB bushings came today.

I think you're right. I'm going to check on OEM at the Lexus dealership tomorrow but I expect the price to be absurd so my next step will be to make them myself. I've been watching DIYs on making your own polyurethane bushings/mounts and it seems quite straightforward. I just want to use a softer PU than most of the guys in the videos are using (they want performance, I just want soft, vibration-less function) and I think I'll be good to go.

yea I’m having trouble finding out where to get these from and if there’s any cross compatible cars such as a sc400 for example(not sure if those are actually compatible) lmk if you find anything out.

I forgot to follow up. I bought them from the dealership about a month ago. The main two horizontal ones were about $60 each and I asked if I could have a discount. I think he gave me 10%.

Not the cheapest, but not insanely outrageous as I expected (like the sub-frame bushings, for example. I will never purchase those from Lexus). I figure if I could get another quarter-century out of OEM ones then the $110-ish isn't really so bad. As for the little vertical one (I don't know the correct names for these), I bought a Febest one online. I recall it being $35 or something like that.
Now...I just need time to install. With all the "stuff" going on, moving houses, work, regular life, I just haven't had time to get my backup vehicle road-worthy to use while the ol' Celsior is up on jack stands as I inevitably smash my knuckles, curse, re-watch YT videos and wonder why I thought to try this job myself. At to the diff bushings, I will at the same time install all the PSB for the rear. I bought one for every single bushing as well. It will be one big job but I suspect the results will be astounding. I did my entire front suspension pieces, struts, steering rack, steering pump this summer so the front end is fresh. :-)
