Default Body Parts Compatibility among Gen1

You should not assume that body parts are compatible among Gen1. There are some differences I've noticed between (90, 91, 92) and (93, 94).

I went to a you-pull junk yard near and found 91 LS so I took few parts off that I needed. Cost of part for these vehicles are so high priced that I think it is worth a while taking parts from a wrecked cars. I took off fog lamp lens, side parking lamp lens and floater (for gas meter) from the gas tank. I found that all of these three items are not be compatible with my 93 LS.

I check for compatibility for the floater switch before taking the unit out by calling local dealership and they say the part number is different between two and they are not compatible. Not sure exactly what the difference is but they have separate part numbers.

The Fog Lamp Lens seems identical but when I place the part into the open slot after removing the damaged on (I have a small hole in the face cased by a flying rock), it did not fit quite right. I am able to fit it in but fitting is not right. I put two side by side to compare to find that there is little differences that will make a difference if I install them. This one definitely would cause problem if I force install it.

The Parking Lamp, Side Marker Lens may be compatible as I install the part on my 93 but looking up the part number, they have different number assigned to it that I am not sure I should keep the lens or not.

Who would have thought..... Subtle differences among the two groups of cars. They almost look the same from out side and inside....

93 and 94 have a lot of different things, but will interchange between themselves just fine. 90 to 92 do the same.
