LS400 00 Power Steering Pump
Hello everyone
i have a squeaky noise from the engine thought it was the belt cause dayco belt and then tensioner and then we found out the power steering pump the bracket of the housing was broken like a biscuit, so now i need a power steering motor and was wondering which would be a good brand and so i wont get the parts wrong cause my last order from there website was belt, idle pully, and tensioner , belt was fine but the other parts are wrong, i dont have 100% knowledge about car parts but my car is U.S.A imported and not middle east version so most of the parts from rock auto should work fine i guess
bottom line i need a good brand and a part that will fit my ride, im thinking of geting a new one which will be CARDONE SELECT 965143 w/o Reservoir
check the picture below for the rest and what you recommend for me to get price is almost the same

I've been using a rebuilt unit I picked up from O'Reillys...it's been good for 2 years. Just remember to replace your hoses to the reservoir with real PS/hydraulic hoses... nothing else will work.

If you want to avoid problems, buy from Lexus.

Yeah the Mexican rebuilt one from Oreillys that I got a while back cost me a tow from work. I'll just be doing my own rebuilds on stuff now. Or getting working ones from wrecking yard or from dealer. Problem is the new or rebuilt dealer one could be done at the same place the Oreilly one was. We are all the losers from their world market with car parts, food, and medical supplies oh and shoes that have soles that last only 2 to 3 months.

Alright ill just go for the lexus rebuilt one i guess i was thinking to go with 965143 cuz its new,
one last thing will they fit my ls400 00 ? Curious cause the last time i order idle pully and belt tensioner from rockauto they sent me a tensioner pully size was way big at least an inch bigger my orignal one was 3.5 they sent me a 4inch pully and the idle pully was complety different, so just to be on the safe side
ls400 2000 usa imported to the middle east
later i bought one from the dealer here 3.5inch they said its same usa or middle east
sorry im bad at spelling

I can't image a different pully design for different countries. I think you just got the wrong part shipped to you.
Even buying new it's kinda pot luck. There are no guarantees, just a reduction in risk that it's going to fail again.
Some people buy Hondas and love them... I've had to put transmissions in the 2 I owned and the second one also needed a head gasket. My toyotas and lexus on the other hand, nothing but normal maintenance and the one PS pump and impacted alternator.
Best of luck to you.

it runs awesome
but it was a big headache they had to remove the alt, remove upper coolant pipe, flush the power steering oil with the old pump
and when reinstalled everything on the new pump and then it happend, a broken stud in the engine block ( explains how the F@(J that bracket snapped ), took it different workshops finally someone could take it out
but it does run WAY BETTER then before not only in steering but fuel fuel economy is improved as well " ask me how " )
