Great job on your renovation! Car looks superb, especially for the years and mileage.

Hey thanks for the compliments guys. I actually haven't detailed this car yet. I will run my polisher over it here soon, and get my sealant on it as well. I did do the inside. The car is great. I have really enjoyed it so far. I see no reason why it should make it another 150-200k miles. These pics are actually of a dirty rained on driven in the rain car! I do love this color as well as it has a nice deep metalic look to it. Very impressed with the overall quality of these cars. Amazing how well they are built.

I promise to get some nice glamor shots up when I do get it really cleaned up! thanks again for the compliments!

These cars were built to rival the luxury cars coming out of Germany so they had a lot to compete with and as you have seen for yourself they hold up.

So last week I got a chance to detail the car. Now the gold really pops! I got that stupid hitch off the back too.

I've always thought this since they started doing it--Lexus does the wood steering wheels the best, IMO. That steering wheel looks delicious, lol.

I think Lexus does wood in general up there with the best.

Just a small update today. I stopped by the Lexus dealer just to see what they would do with a cut key that ordered from ebay. I had successfully programmed the key to start the car but never got the keyless entry to work. Anyway I was over by my Lexus dealership and just simply asked them. A nice service advisor came out and said he remembers these. So he sits in the car and does several buttons and opens and closes the door a few times and bam keyless entry programs and works perfect. No charge.

Super nice of these guys to just take care of this for me. Super nice guys! Just a nice story of some good guys helping me out. Enjoy

Very nice feeling when they go out of their ways to help, hope you give him a tip. I usually take my 99 ls400 to dealer for major service, since the difference in price compare to non dealer is not that much more, plus I know it be done right and on top of that a free loaner which I get to drive around.

Got a few maint things done on the car today. I got the valve cover bolts re torqued. I few were like 2+ turns loose. Hopefully that will help out with my very very slight leak. Just enough to get a smell of burnt oil once a month or so. I got the throttle body cleaned. It was dirty! I have had this car for about 9k miles now. I should have checked it earlier The throttle response is improved.

Got the oil changed. I use Penzoil Platinum. I'm sure any oil is good, just use this stuff lately.

Got the front sway bar bushings replaced. I have the rears as well as the end links to do still. I also have to do some rear bushings to tackle, but that is a bigger job.

Not much else. I did see that the timing belt was changed at 87k miles per the engine cover, after I removed the plastic covers. I am at 163K now. I will probably have this done this summer. I don't have the time to do it myself. There is a nice local mechanic that is very trustworthy I will take it to him.

This car is just awesome. I smile every time I drive it. Truly these are gems!
