Default New to the Japanese car scene, my 94 LS intro thread

Hey guys! Just introducing myself and my new car here. im trying to figure out how to upload pictures of the car from my phone, it's not working out so well yet haha.

Anyway my name is Tyler, I'm from Michigan. Last month I picked up my 94 LS400 with 244k on it running like a top, in need of a brake line and power steering and a couple little odds and ends. I'm originally a mkiv VW kid, and I still have a 01 VR6 Jetta that's sat since the day I bought my LS lol.

Current plans for this car are poor kid budget stuff. Looking for some coils in the $900 range, just got supra front brakes for it, it's now tinted to 2.5% (that and the black leather make it a little too dark for my liking...) and I just ordered some JP pillows and curtains and I'm trying to find a used duckbill spoiler for it. I saw a 3 piece one I really liked and I plan to get lips and skirts for it before spring because it's gonna go into the paint booth next March. Hopefully picking up a set of work euro lines this weekend since I can't find anything else local, not quite the look I wanted but easy to change down the road and the ****ing idiot that had it before me ran blizzax on it until he sold it to me in the middle of summer.

If anyone has any tips or cheap mods that are typical things I should do PLEASE post them up! I'm super new to the Japanese car world and so far it's a big change from euros.

Honestly I should just get tapatalk but I hate the layout of it. But like really, 10 years of forums on mobile browsers and you still can't get to your camera roll and just upload? 😭🔫

Yeah since my pictures rolled 90 degrees to the left, I did try to rotate the phone the other way, and what happened? The same deal. On the pc the pictures are perfect. So whats up with this down load deal?

The FAQs are your friends, as well as LexLS.

I urge you to thoroughly go through the car and spend effort on getting it maintained, the coils/wheels/etc... can wait. A set of cheap 15" tires on the stock wheels will make the car driveable.

Coilovers: BC and Megan are the usual go-to picks. Godspeed/F&F/etc... are rarely chosen, and more rarely spoken well of beyond relatively few people.

Brakes: The mkiv turbo front bbk is doable but is expensive when compared to the 2LS 4piston front BBK for little to no real-world gain in braking power. Read up on both and make your decision. Regardless of which you choose, MAKE SURE YOUR WHEELS WILL FIT THE BIG BRAKES!

Other than that, welcome. If you are having issues uploading to the site, check out the site suggestions forum at the bottom of the main forum list. All services should be working fine as far as I know.
