Default Adding an Aux port to radio

Can you add a 3.5 mm Aux input port to a 1999 Lexus LS 400 radio, cassette player and cd player with cd changer in trunk?

wonder why a 99 LS would have a CD changer in the trunk when there is a changer above the glove box.
is it the original lexus radio?

yep! got mine at walmart for I think 9 bucks. Works perfectly, a little awkward but it beats having to remove the radio and custom make something.

Default aux input

I tried several tape to aux adaptors for my 99 LS, wasn't impressed with the results. One was an older one from my parts drawer and the other was a Monster Cable brand I ordered online. Both had low volume and poor audio quality, and the Monster had almost no output on the right channels. The tape deck itself has a bad belt and drags, but when it plays a tape the audio quality is good and even on left & right sides. So the playback head itself is fine.

I wound up picking up an FM transmitter that had both an Iphone/ipod connector and a 3.5mm aux jack input. I've used both with much better audio quality than the tape adaptor. Don't know of any other solution that doesn't involve pulling the radio.

OP, sounds like you have an aftermarket system if your changer is in the trunk...

Really did they go back to putting the CD in the trunk in the newer LS's? I thought it was like the 95 to 97's???
