I think that black substance on the molding is actually rubber transferred from the tire of the other car, not paint. I could be wrong, though.

Either way, I would try the isopropyl alcohol method jaaa mentioned first, then a rubbing compound or a product such as Meguiar's ScratchX to remove any remaining scuffs/scratches.

If you can find a PDR guy (or if the Lexus dealer gets one for you), I think the fender and door could be bent back into shape. The door I'm fairly certain can be pulled back to how it was before. I can't say the same for the fender, as I'm no expert in PDR; however, it's worth a try!

Suggestion; take the car to a paintless dent repair shop before you let any body shop touch the car. They may be able to remove the dent and buff out the rub. Insurance won't pay for PDR usually, and body shops don't want to do it.

Not 100% sure but the door skin looks bent on the jam which is not a paintless repair. Just went thru that with my own car after being turned down by two PDR guys. Ended up finding a straight door shell (same color thankfully) and installing myself which was cheaper than the extra body work the bent door would have needed before going to the paint booth. Either way it's a costly repair.

Very cool, so how did the paint match? I would guess almost perfect? Was it the same year for the donor door?

It wasn't my LS (rather, my G35) but the damage was almost identical to OP's. replacement door had deep scratches and paint was not in the best shape, so I got it knowing I'd be repainting it. Having it the same color was a huge plus since I wouldn't need to paint the inside, door jams, ect. But it was just paint and not a bunch of body labor that the original door would have needed. Insurance adjuster even took one look at it and put a new door shell on the write up.

well State Farm paid me $1918.66, and it is in the bank, now let me see if I can clean it up some...

Well, the black came off. Still got some paint missing... there are some touchup guys that rotate through the dealers that might be able to get some paint back on there. I'd still check a PDR place and see what they can do. While I don't expect a 17 year old car to be perfect I do want them to look nice.

The caved in fender is an easy fix it will pop back out, find a younger guy that is built like you as a youngin and have him push it back out. The lower plastic stuff can be removed to fix. It will be like it never happened. You really lucked out on that one.

sorry about the wreck billy, I don't post much on this side but I do read as I have a soft spot for 98-00 LS400s.

Anyways, I personally couldn't live with that, but you can play around with it a little before you give in and have the fender painted. Like others have recommended you can try to have the fender pulled out, but my guess is that will crack the paint.

I would try and find a good matching factory painted fender. I'm not one to be afraid of repaints, quality shops can do awesome repaints but on something that old and white no way is a repaint going to match...

The cladding is easy to repaint...

I just did a quick nationwide search on car-part.com, there were plenty of fenders, many white ones also.

thanks, I'll take a look.. I ordered a spray can from Toyota 00258-UCA29-21 for the cladding
