New LS owner have a mysterious leak, Pics!
Hello all, New to the forum, avid mechanic but, used to the simplicity of Jeeps.
I found a decent deal on s '91 LS with 101k on the clock. It was being sold with a "power steering problem". It starts, runs and drives very nice, but uses an ungodly amount of power steering fluid.
There is no smoke coming out of the tail pipe and there isn't a leak at the bottom of the P/S reservoir. The leak is coming from the drivers side front bumper,
Heres a picture from the top of where the leak is
Heres a pic from the bottom
I cant figure out if its a P/S Return line or if it has to do with a transmission cooler of some kind
Any help/insight is appreciated

In that area, it has to be the transmission, cooler return line. The PS lines should not flow up there.
Can you follow the line from there to see if it connects up to the radiator?
But then you say you know your losing power steering fluid...what about transmission fluid?
Could have two problems... losing both PS fluid and trans fluid at the same time, from two different locations.

That's the power steering cooler line. Hopefully it just needs a new hose. The trans cooler is inside the radiator and the lines hook to the back side of it, not really visible from the front where this is.
