Default Navigation for 2000 LS 400

Hello

Does anyone know what the latest navigation update I can put on my 2000 LS 400? Local Lexus dealership thinks it is 2013 but no longer has discs or information to confirm.

Follow up question where can I obtain latest discs for updates?

Thank you for all replies

Been so long I'm not sure, another member can chime. The last disc update was '04 or '05. There had been some talk about swapping the DVD based system from the 430's in.

It's way older than 2013...

I don't know about the USDM but the final DVD for a JDM was dated October 2004. Probably the same or similar there in US.

Without the navi, I can't control the A/C and I'm still in use of it adding a separate latest navi as below.

Hello gentlemen: I am in the middle of contemplating the purchase of a 2000 LS400 that has the NAV in it. Unlike FredWill, I am not interested in an update, and know that a fix has been talked about ad naseum on these forums.

I am aware about the Beat Sonic option, but wanted to ask if anyone knows of any other recent options available. As Yamae pointed out about not being able to use the A/C, I have shied away from cars with the NAV up until now. If anyone knows of some more affordable options, I would love to know about them.

There is no "Beat-Sonic" option. Believe me, I went through this already.

Hiroshi - thanks for the heads up and helping me avert any potential frustration like you did. I'll keep my eyes open, and with the knowledge you have now imparted, I am that much better off.

If you live in an area with little recent development like I do, the GPS on these older systems is surprisingly accurate. My LS400 has it's original hard drive from 1997, and here on the Westside of LA, I have very few areas where it doesn't have street information. Obviously the POI's are extremely out of date, but sometimes it's fun to reminisce. Everyone has GPS on their phones anyways, so it's not like I'm using the system all the time. If you're worried about the system failing, such as the touch screen, that's an entirely different issue. Mine hasn't had any issues, but I have seen there have been some failures.
