Default seat problem

my daughter reclined to sleep, there was a trash bin on its way down, which broke the shaft and it could not be adjusted anymore. i had to remove it from my car so that the rear seat can be used.

ordered 2 new OEM shafts from UAE at $13 each with $60 DHL + $15 handling fee

I was just notified by seller that there was only one piece available

I was trying to save my money by drilling a hole thru it but it was so hard with my dreamel, broke 2 drill bits.

if you have the OEM part number you can order from anayama or one of the US sellers.

amayama has no stock. I got 1 new one and my seat is functional and back in again. the replacement part is about 5mm longer than the original, this might be the cause of this problem on 90-92 models

I find a way to 'repair' it for the driver's seat. would save me 100$, will report back when done

the main problem of this year car seat was that the shaft isnt long enough. its length is 41cm, the replacement one is 41.5cm (0.5 longer that fix the problem)

since I could only buy 1 replacement part for the passenger's side while drive's seat has the same problem. I cut the broken one into 2 pieces, inserted a 10mm dia aluminum hose into 2 broken tooth ends of the shaft, extended the length to 41.5, and soldered it.

I tried that in and it works like a charm, saving me 100 bucks
