Saw something on youtube but no name or links.

Just the good old paper clip or jumper wire, and flashing lights. You would need a special plug to use any sort of scanner tools or app.

If you want to use the app to do more than find error codes, the only one I know of is ToyoOBD1. It has a lot of good reviews on other Toyota forums, and can be used with the 1UZ engine.

However, you will need to contact the developer to obtain the bluetooth module required. Here is his website.
