Default 1992 Gauge Cluster Question

I went ahead and bought a new cluster on ebay. The miles on it are closer to true that are on the car than the last cluster I bought that was garbage. Well, I get it and it clearly had been opened before and the speedometer needle was not seated and two thin wires were coiled up around it. Looks like someone tried the reset trick and botched it badly. I was able to pull the needle out and clipped the wires seeing that it would not go back in properly. I was able to get the needle back down and snapped back into place. I was wondering. The cluster I have now the odometer does not work, the fuel gauge does not work and the rpms are reading way low, lazy. I was wondering if everything worked on this one if it was enough to swap out the speedo portion of the cluster? Kind of make one out of two. Irritates me because the ad said nothing about it ever being out of the car and taken apart when clearly two tabs were broke and the speedo was messed up. They said the car was totaled and that's why it was pulled out.

Not sure how much you paid on EBAY, But my local pick/pull places have lots(4) of 90-94 ls400. I think the price of a instrument cluster is on the order of $25. Of course, you never know what you are getting there, but the price is right.
