What's your favorite tires for a smooth, comforting ride? I drive 2 hours per day, so I don't need anything really sporty. Just tires that give a smooth ride and will last a long time.

i've liked the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus. pretty quiet and comfortable, and they've lasted a pretty good amount of time. they'd have even more tread on them if i didn't turn of VSC and spin them on occasion people also seem to like the Premier A/S

I've been hearing good feedback from people using Toyo Versado. I put a set on my 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and after 1500 miles really enjoy the quiet ride.

I have these tires on mine (came with car) -- have put 20k miles on them myself so far and they are barely worn in at all. I drive 1-1.5hrs a day. Quiet, smooth, will stick to these when it's time for new ones. Plus they are a complete steal at $125 a piece. That's one of the many bonuses of keeping the 16" stockers - great tires are still dirt cheap.

The MXV4 is absolutely the best I've experienced - had them on both the 2000 LS400 and 1998 Camry we used to have. Don't bother with the 149 mph "V" speed rated version. Get the 130 mph H-rated MXV4.

I've got the Michelin MXV4 on mine as well. No complaints.

i searched on Tirerack and it says the tires don't fit. I'm assuming I can still fit them on there?

I just went on tirerack to find you a link and couldn't find them. I'm hoping they aren't discontinued in that size - because I did bookmark them a few months ago on an old computer

they don't seem to make the MXV4 anymore in the size for an LS, skips 225 goes right from 215 to 235. and they don't come in a 245 either so i can't even get them for my 18s. michelin seems to be replacing it with the premier A/S

The MXV4 has been replaced with the Premier. I've heard some rumblings that the Premier aren't as smooth and quiet as the Primacy MXV4.

I was also a huge fan of the MXV4, had them on the LS400 (as well as the Energy MXV4 which was the predecessor), LS430, my ES300 and ES350.

I had a set of Toyo Versado Noir on my GS350 which were very smooth and quiet, I put a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus on my LS460 in November, and I am very happy with them. Very similar to the MXV4.

Thats the tire I would choose for the LS400.

H Rated tires are totally fine for the car. The LS430 came with H Rated tires from the factory.

Hs are indeed fine; it's quite illegal to top this car out on any highway in the US. If you're racing or ever feeling the need to break some laws then shell out for the Vs It's a very small price difference anyway on most tires of this size.

i know, i was just trying to be controversial and spark a speeding debate

but for real lol i have exceeded an H rating multiple times in the LS, really doesn't take too long to get there.

Thats a discussion for another topic....but 99.9% of LS owners aren't going to drive at speeds anywhere near that. No reason to drive those kinds of speeds on public roads.

you're right. i still maintain that it's possible to do it without putting others at danger though, or ideally when there's nobody else on the road. and i'm gonna use the obligatory "the germans have been doing it safely for years yada yada..."

the real problem is that idiots don't realize the left lane is for passing and they should get out of it. if you watch autobahn footage, you NEVER see someone pass on the right, that's where danger can occur. as long as a few basic rules can actually be followed by everyone, there really wouldn't be more danger. more fatal crashes probably but not necessarily more.
