98 antenna location ?
Just replaced my 93 with 295 K miles with a nice 1998 LS400. I have no radio reception,, both antenna cables are plugged in the back of radio, where are the antennas ? Is there an antenna module or signal booster somewhere?
THX IN advance Mike
Well, I purchased a cheap antenna to test with, still no reception, just white noise so it must be the radio, cd works fine, I removed the radio from the car disassembled it and have 2 suspect components, they come straight off the antenna sockets, history tells me they are resitors ? No continuity in either direction on the high R X 10,000 scale, now I need to find replacement parts and give that a shot before buying another radio.

my wife's 2000 has the nakamichi system. The radio would get signal but no sound. Cassette and CD worked perfectly. Some time last year the cassette started to fail so I replaced the headunit with one from a salvage yard.
Can you describe your issues in detail?

Yes I get sound when playing CD or tape, I have static only when fm or am is on. My 93 had a signal booster or tuner of some type in the trunk, the antenna would go up or down a few inches when changing stations. I was thinking there may be a simuliar device on this 98 that could be unplugged or bad. Before taking the trunk apart I think I will remove the radio again & try plugging in another antenna mast to see if its the radio or antenna.
thx again Mike

If you aren't sure what components you're looking at (resistors and diodes look similar to the untrained eye, for example) I suggest not attempting any repairs.
Ebay or a junkyard are your best bet. Otherwise try finding a local vac/sew repair shop, as those are usually some of the few commonly found places left that are still used to fixing electrical components. Electrical repair shop would work too, if you hav eone local.
