Resetting fuel gauge?
I had my gauge cluster out of my car (91 LS400) for a few weeks to get some repairs done to it by Tanin auto (speedometer needle and illumination fix/diagnosis). I drove the car around without a cluster during that time.
Now that I have re-installed the refreshed cluster the fuel gauge doesn't read where it should be. A full fill-up shows only about 70% on the gauge. (i initially removed the cluster at approx 30% fuel remaining)
There weren't any problems with the gauge prior to sending it in.
Is there a way to reset the fuel gauge? I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, then started the car which didn't change anything.

Take the cover off and gently move the needle all the way up to its max, then back down to where it should be. Be very careful with it and don't press down, just move it from the side with your fingernail or something like that.
That's how I fixed my speedo and tach when they stopped displaying correctly.
