92 LS400 no cluster backlight
ok so... 2 days ago i got into my car and started it up...everything working as it should....i then put the car into Drive and the dash back light went out...meaning....the needles light up and Move...everything working but back light....i can not see any numbers....and then just last night on my way into work the back light flickered on...lasted about a min then off again.....i have searched here on the forums... and everything i come across seems to be different year ........if i need to replace capacitors.....then which ones do i need to replace..I can change them if i know what ones to change...again everything else works just have no back light behind Fuel, Speed, Tach, and Temp.....the pic attached is what it looks like when running....when i just turn key (not start) all the warning lights come up and go off like they should....just no numbers

As far as I know, the cluster lighting problems are separate from the leaking capacitor problems. Might want to shoot an email to Tanin and see what they say. I've never seen that problem before lol

I had this happen to me way back in high school and it turned out to be a bad fuse. Check and see if your front marker lights and tail lights come on when you turn on the headlights. If they do not and only the headlights are lit, then it is a bad taillight fuse and you can easily replace it yourself. If they do come on, then it's likely an instrument cluster issue as you already suspect.
