Aamco shop
Hey guys,
I just received a diagnostic coupon in mail from Aamco. They'll do the diagnostic check for free. It's called an "External Diagnostic Check." So they check for fluid leaks, and take it for a test-drive, and the external transmission controls. I don't think there is anything wrong with my tranny, but it's free, so what the heck; might as well get it checked since I wont find anymore of these "free" deals... If you were me would you take it in, considering it's being done by Aamco (as opposed to Lexus)? or would you go with "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
Let me know what you think, thanx guys.

Lexus Test Driver
if it aint broken dont fix it. Because the LS400 especially the 1st gen, I have never seen any problems with the tranny. Its almost safe to say that the engine and the tranny are perfect on thees beautys. But then again it all depends on the driver and his/her habits. I tend to drive mine with ease and I dont demand much out of it.. You dont want no aamco guy givin u some crap, I dont, I just trust random mechanics unless i know them.. u know? especially witha lexus. There's something about a lexus that not too many mechanics can do a good job on unless they have truly worked on them before.
I'd say, as long as u driving it normal and servicing the tranny every 40k then u should be safe.. but I aint no mechanic, some of the other guys mite help.

Sounds like they are hard up for some work
Just remember what J.J. from Good Times used to say "If it's Free I can't afford it."
