Default LS400 washer pump problem

Hi guys,
I have a strange problem and I can't figure it out.
After collision with badger my main washer pump was wiped out the car and cracked in half - it was really big son of a...
Well, of course I ordered new pump but the problem is that when I pull the lever, there is no voltage on washer pump plug. What I checked:
- Fuse is ok because wipers are working and it's the same circuit.
- Wires from switch to the pump are ok - I checked it with multimeter
- Wiper switch is ok - I replaced it with spare one and the behavior was the same.
And here is the strange part:
- Mist mode (when pressed button on the lever) is working and then current is provided to the pump
- I checked manual for checking the lever switches and it not fits my pinout, however when I short circuit the pins indicated by manual the voltage is on the pump...no idea.
So...as you see I really did a good investigation and right now I am out of ideas. My main suspicion was the lever because of incorrect behavior according to service manual but now I see that manual is wrong and I have no idea what next to check.

Greetings from Poland and I apologise for any grammar mistakes - english is not my first language

Are you saying the fluid does not spray when you use the lever? There is a sensor on the bottom of the washer bottle in back of the bumper on drivers side that may have been damaged.

The washer pump is working when I press the mist button so I think it's not the problem with level sensor.

I had an issue where my washer pump failed, but the wipers didn't always work. After replacing the pump, everything was okay for me.

I am confused as to what the issue is. When is your washer pump not working? If it is spraying fluid with the wipers, when you press the button, it should be fine.

Ok, so lets clarify the situation.
In LS400 we can turn on the washer in two ways:
- by pressing the mist button - that is working in mine
- by pulling the whole lever - that is not working.
And I can't figure it out.

Your lever might have a bad circuit in it.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I can't believe I wasn't aware of this feature.

EDIT: This is not the case with 1990-1994 models. I didn't realize that you were referring to a part on the 1995 LS.

I will bump this thread because I still havent found solution. I tried second lever and I am sure that this is not source of problem. There must be something between lever and pump! Some kind of relay or computer that controls washer and wipes! Really noone has a wiring diagram for washer circuit? I beg you for some suggestions what to look for.

You didn't say what year Lexus you have, but diagram is from 1998.

I realized that this thread refers to the pump on a 1995 LS400; however, I own a 1991 model. Please disregard my comments when diagnosing the 1995 washer pump.

Aptoslexus- thank you for diagrams but I have ls from 1995 which has single fuse for both washer and wipers. Do you know of any relays connected with pump on my model?

Thanks. That is really helpful. So I was right. There is something between motor and switch. For sure the J/C 5 may be my problem but I don't know what it is and where? The same with J/B 1 and 2. I only know where body ecu is located.

I believe JC5 is a connector plug. Should be very near the fuse. On the 98, most of this stuff is located near the parking brake release. Probably where it is in the 95 as well.

Hi,

I'm refreshing an old topic, because I have almost the same problem , after the collision the washer does not work at all (there is a new tank and pump, because the old ones were damaged) , the wipers work, but in the plug of the pump I have no voltage... LS400 '99
