Default Does anyone know...Cusco underbody brace?

Can anyone tell me if I can get Cusco or any JDM brand underbody brace or anything to strengthen the handling of my 2000 LS400? I just bought it a week ago. I don't want to turn it into a super racer. But a little mod will help.

Thanks a whole bunch!

What are your goals and potential mods for the car? The car is sufficiently rigid as is and unless the HP goes way up and it will be driven hard as a sports sedan, the addition IMO is not going to be obvious. The squishy bushings and many other parts will be part of this equation for replacement.

Under body brace sounds like an okay idea as long as you can use existing holes and suspension mount points to attach it. And RA40 is right about all the soft rubber stuff, you need to attack it first. UCA's if they are all the same on all the LS series the stock ones are solid there are no rubbers, they may look like it but it is a steel ball socket at all 3 points. At least on the ones I have seen.

Thanks! So are you suggesting me to replace the bushings of the cars with factory ones first? or do you recommend any vendor who has better than stock ones?

This will come as a package with dampers, springs, bushings and suspension mods. The factory parts are fine to to maintain a quiet compliant ride quality. If the car has many miles on it, there are a variety of bushings that tend to be due for replacement. Generally speaking, adjustable coils with a good tire-wheel set-up will be sufficient to allow more road feel-input while driving.

Strut bar, upper and lower control arm, sway bar bushings, tranny, engine and differential mounts are usual suspects 100K+ miles. Have the ball joints and tie rod ends checked as well. I'm not driving our hard to seek out higher performance parts, the factory bushings are acceptable in maintaining the ride quality I like.

You need to read the FAQ and the suspension threads. We've had a fair bit of discussion about everything you're asking for.
