https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ve-a-list.html

my only problem is i cant find all parts.

can you help me to find :
-engine coolant temp sensor (ects)
-strut bar bushings
-ecu capacitors
-spark plug wires and what spark plug, what you recommend

other than maintenance fixs a have problem with:
-sunroof not opening (i can hear engine working, looks like its blocked)
- steering wheel shakes during braking, brake pulsation (brake pads or Carrier Arm Bushings?)

Default Parts

Parts. com or check amazon, etc.

I would consider getting timing belt/ water pump job, would be more important in my opinion than suspension (Since there are no service records).

I don't think strut bar bushings are sold separately, only the whole arm with bushing $108.81 plus shipping each. Check other suspension parts for wear and repalce all worn parts - tie rods, lower ball joints, etc.

No spark plug wires on 2000LS, multiple discussions about plug choice.

Don't worry about about ECU capacitors, shouldn't be an issue on a 2000LS

www.amayama.com can save you a lot on OEM parts from Japan, there is a wait - around 2 weeks or so. I bought from them twice before. Prices about 1/2 of US prices, but you have to pay shipping, which is not outrageous. You have to know your part ## to search and to get quote.

I would definitely do the TB/WP job. I recently purchased a 97 LS with 253k, previous owner said the TB was done at 200k but doesn't know when. So going by that, it could've been 10 year or longer.

Fast forward to a month after buying it and 2k miles later my crankshaft seal sprung a big leak and coated the TB in oil, along with all the other idlers and tensioners. kinda put me in a hard spot since i was solely relying on this while fixing my swapped H22 Accord's valvestem seals and tranny.

So much for trusting the previous owner's maintenance schedule. He only had it for a year anyways so he didn't really do anything to it, other than obvious stuff such as brakes, radiator, hood struts, tint, and alternator.

Rock Auto has a OE quality Aisin Timing belt kit for 176, combine that w/ the 5% coupon promotion and you'll get the best kit with OE quality for the price. Nobody local or online could beat it. I also paired it up with VC gaskets, Tube seals, Cam and Crank seals and a new Thermostat to cover everything I could. Total spend was about 325. Rock auto also had a closeout on Fel-Pro VC gaskets at less than half of what they were selling for.

COOLANT TEMP SENSOR
Part Number
8942230030

There are part numbers on part.com

Shaking could be multiple things - wheel balancing, tie rods - I would start there, least expensive too...
