1994 ls400 buying tips (what to look for?)
Hey ls400 owners,
Looking to go check out a Ls400 has 112k miles owner says has a bad fuel pump, would this be correct at this mileage or could be other things like injectors or plug wires? Anything else to look for. Wanting to buy this as a winter car as the price is very low for this mileage . Car is few hours away so I wanna check in here and hear your opinions.
Thanks

Things I would look for/ask:
- Has timing belt/water pump been replaced?
- What service records are available to show when coolant/brake fluid/air filter/rear diff fluid/transmission fluid, etc were last serviced?
- Condition of weatherstripping on doors/under hood/in trunk?
- Does it include the first aid kit and tire tool box?
- Has he had the capacitors in the ECU replaced?
- Check to see that all the lights/gauges/stereo work.
These cars are good for 300,000 miles or more with proper care.
Good luck!

Fuel pumps don't seem to go out very often in any car, well that is the electronic engine control types.
On a 94 I have zero information on the fuel pump circuits. If there is no fuel pressure relays and fuses are the first thing to check. Also unless the ecu sees rpm and ignition signals its not going to operate the fuel pump.
What are the symptoms?
