Default Painted Factory 90-94 LS400 Rims?

I just painted my previously chipping and faded wheels with the silver (center one) Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating with the matching Duplicolor High Performance clear coat.

I love the added sparkle the paint brings to the old style wheels. This helps take some of the "old man" look away. They came out nicely after the clear. These are my winter sets so I'm wasn't looking for perfection although, I came close.

That looks really good. My 92 came with a set of 01 430 wheels that I'm trying to unload. Maybe if I used that stuff I could get a few more dollars for them.

Yeah, it's great paint and really adds value to the wheels. However, this was my second attempt with it after about 2 years. On the first the humidity levels weren't right and the paint would dry before reaching the surface which left a real gritty finish. This time it worked great!

I've used that stuff before with pretty good success. I just didn't think about redoing them. Seems pretty cheap and easy.

Those are 93 to 94 rims. Not 90 to 92.
I suppose that paint would stay on better than what the factory used, how did you clean off the old paint?

I know they're not 90-92 rims. I just wanted other people to post they're painted rims throughout the year range.

Cleaned off the old paint using a power drill and wire cup brush +sandpaper.

I have these wheels. Seems they are undesirable on the market so I may freshen them up.

Definitely! We first gen owners know all about the undesirable factory rims.

They are desirable to me, Gen 1 rims that is. I can't stand the gaudy looking things everyone puts on.
