Default Stereo wiring Schematic '99 Celsior

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me out with a wiring diagram for my '99 Celsior?

Going to install aftermarket stereo and need the wire colours for speakers, earth etc.
Not sure if the Ls400 uses the same colour wires?

Thanks in advance.

here you go. This is for the Nakamichi system. Hope it helps.

Putting in an aftermarket deck it's more complicated that you might think. I just went through it with my '98 (non Nak and I couldn't find an accurate diagram). So I traced everything out with a meter.

Word of warning - you need to either bypass the amp under the passenger seat (be ready for seat removal in this case) or interface to the amp by hand or with an aftermarket harness adapter - which I was also unable to find for my year.

If you try to integrate the amp and your deck you'll lose your fader.

And when bypassing the amp you lose the subwoofer.

So I bypassed the factory amp and completely swapped it out with an aftermarket sub amp. Took a cutting the heater vent a little bit to make it fit.

It was quite a bit more work than I expected but worth it in the end .

Thanks guys.
I've come prepared with aftermarket sub and amp
I'm just hoping to use the stock wiring for the door speakers.

A Nakamichi Audio system/amplifier was never used for a JDM Celsior, only a Pioneer's was used

Post #38 below shows speaker connections for a JDM. But you may not be able to read colour names written in Japanese. The post #39 shows USDM stereo's wiring diagram kindly posted by aptoslexus and this may be useful for you because colours are mostly the same with a JDM except one "FR-", JDM - 青="Blue", USDM -L "Lime". But those two look nearly the same and you can distinguish wires to speakers easily.

One thing you need to pay attention is that front speakers and the sub woofer are impedanced 2ohms. You need to be ready to drive such low impedance speakers. Otherwise you may risk the final stage devices of the amplifier.

Hiroshi12 has tried to install an aftermarket navi unit removing the original navi but his was not able to complete the job and finally he asked a professional to help. The replacement job may be not very easy for those who don't have this type of experience as djamps wrote. It was not difficult for me but was a time consuming job doing investigations, removing the original units, installing new units, doing wirings and doing mechanical jobs to make a bezel and holders.

This may be easier for you to know all the speaker lines although some are written in Japanese.
The photo is from the Celsiorup. See lower part for speakers connections.

Yes, 2 ohm front speakers! I almost forgot. Thankfully my head unit (Alpine) had a gain adjustment for the front outputs so I halved it. Works great so far.

Another thing to make sure of is that your head unit has crossovers for the built-in speaker outputs. The OEM speakers are designed for it, you should not put full-range audio to them.

Lastly, you can access the OEM door speaker wiring under the passenger seat. The wires are standard toyota color scheme. Look up any 'typical' toyota stereo harness diagram and look for those speaker colors. They are all on the same plug at the factory amp.

Hopefully your sub amp is small enough to fit in the factory amp location like mine did. Makes for a clean install.

Seeing is believing.
The left speakers are for the front and the right is for the rear.
The sub woofer is 2 ohms.

Good stuff

I've bought a set of new speakers for the front doors.
Nearly done with fitting the head unit and it all works. Just need to stick the GPS antenna to the window.
Then it's time to fit the Kicker sub and amp.
