Cool My new Rims

Hey all,

I guess looking though here I got the bug. It seems like a good chunk of people here got new/after market rims for their LS400s so, I joined the bunch : )

These are from a 2002 LS430 and they fit like a dream on my 96 LS. I got a good deal on them and they only had about 2k on them before the owner put on after market on his 430. They really update the look of the car.

This winter as been bad to me and my poor car, It's been hit once (small dent and paint scraches) and rubbing against a snow/ice mountan trying to get into my driveway, pulled some paint off and now it's just chipping away. I am looking to get it all fixed (got a check sitting here for the dent) but, waiting till this snow is done with.

Let me know what you think !

Very sharp! I always vote for staying with OEM if possible.

IMO they look better on your car than on the 430.
The size is just right. Good Choice!

I got the complete set for $400. Not a bad deal in my eyes. If you want to see how the car looked before, take a look here

http://www.anywherecool.com/lexus.htm

(it's very slow loading due to a poor upload speed on my server)

This are much easier to keep clean too. I like that.

If anyone is interested, the old rims are up for sale, drop me an e-mail if your interested...The will be on ebay in a few weeks if they are not sold.

Personally, I think your '96 chrome wheels look better. The '96 wheels looks much fuller and richer than the '02 wheels.

BUT

For $400 for a set of 4. That is a deal not worth passing up.

The old rims were not crome. I thought it looked so dated. With the new rims, it makes it look a little newer and gives a better over all look (in my eyes). I would of liked to get some 17" rims for it but, this updated the look and stays OEM look (what I was looking for).

The 96 rims did look nice on the car, just dated.

The 2002 LS430 17's would have been my choice.

Yup..there are stock 17"s for the LS. I kick myself for not waiting and buying those instead of the bad condition 1993 LS 16"s I have..

David,

I have to admit that those new rims look "alot" better than the originals. But your web site says your car has 290 hp. Did you change out your engine to the 98-00 engine or do some upgrades to it? The 95-97 models only had 260 hp stock. Just wondering.

Those wheels look familiar, I have the same ones in chrome on my 96.
