Humble Greetings to the Group,

Looking to buy a 2001/2002 LS430, with Nav and Levinson, but don't really know the other options. I think I want the Sport suspension and the Ultra Luxury Package, but I'm not even sure what those years come with. Any experience with any packages I should/should not get?

There is a Custom Luxury package that has most features found in the ultra luxury package, with the exception of the rear seat features and adjustable air suspension. The rear seat features not included in the Custom Luxury package include: power slide seats, headrest with memory and massager, seat heaters, air conditioner controls and air filtration, cool box and audio controls.
I'm not sure what the supply of custom luxury LS430's are today. They only started offering the Custom Luxury in mid year 2002 and my guess would be they are still in short supply and limited in color selection.

After owning the ultra luxury, I really like and use the adaptive laser cruise control and power door closers.

Actually, I have an 01 LS430 with the Custom luxury package and it has the air suspension and Lexus Link. Car stickered for over $67k new. I got it in January for $48.2k Lexus Certified with 20k miles. 01 was the only year you could get the Custom pkg with the air suspension. My car has the nav, Levinson, laser cruise, voice recognition, pwr rear sunshade, chrome 17' rims, parking assist sensors, pwr door & trunk closers, ecru(swede) headliner, heated front & rear seats, a/c front seats, etc... The only things it didn't come with were the above mentioned rear seat features(except the heated rear seats which I do have). I also don't have the rear side door manual sun shades that only come on the Ultra. The difference in price between my car and a loaded Ultra car new was about $3600. From what I've heard, the Custom pkg with the air suspension is a pretty rare find. But to me it was worth saving a few grand to not get the Ultra since I never spend any time in the back seat anyway.
