Default 98 LS400 broken airbox/vacuum leaks

So I got this ucf20 a couple months ago, and it was neglected unfortunately. This particular problem is due to the previous owner breaking both vacuum nipples off of the airbox. I need advice on how to fix the exisiting airbox or sourcing a different one.

So right now the valve cover breather is to atmosphere as well as the other hose which I think goes to the charcoal canister?

Easy to fix for less than $7. As PD mentions in the thread various nylon/plastic tube fittings are available to adapt for what is necessary.

My 92 has a similar issue. I've looked at a couple at salvage yards and they were broken in the same places.

Brass works well and you don't have to worry about it snapping off like a twig sometime in the future.

Your warning is about two weeks late. I broke mine off leaning over the engine changing out the starter. First I super-glued it back on then JB welded it by forming a dam around it with duct tape. It's held for the last two weeks. If it breaks, the radiator removal isn't that hard on this car, just took around 15 minutes to take it out to clean it.

I JB welded the nipple at first and it didn't hold long term so then I drilled out the hole and screwed in a brass fitting with JB weld and it held up with no problem. I ended up buying a new Denso radiator from rockauto for $69 because the top fitting that holds the upper radiator hose was falling apart and the hose slipped off on 2 different occasions almost leaving me stranded. Lucky I ride around with a jug of coolant and distilled water.

Yeah, I probably have a radiator in my future. I too noticed that upper hose coupler looked in bad shape. Looked like it might fall apart at any time. $69 sounds like a great price.
