help with air suspension diagnosis
My 1995 ls400 sags on the passenger side. The wife took it in for diagnosis and was told that there was a leak in the pneumatic piston airbag. I took a look at the airbag and disconnected the battery. My thought was to isolate the electronics from the pneumatic/mechanical. I have yet to find a leak (soap test on the bag itself and the top of the piston tower). The airbag holds pressure when the battery is disconnected and the pneumatic piston holds its position. Once the car is started it drops then rises clear of the wheel. I don't want to spend the money on a new air piston if I don't have to but I do not have a clear understanding of the suspension system nor the money to replace random electronic components. Any thoughts?

it might not be leaking at the bag itself, it could be leaking from multiple places from the air lines to the valve block. finding the leak will be like finding a needle in a haystack!
i would check the condition of your height sensors. they do tend to wear out or bend and break causing the car to compensate.
also most folks here convert their suspension to traditional spring and strut especially at this day and age, bc it is more feasible to do so rather than spend >$1000 on a single bag or spend countless hours troubleshooting. it is just a matter of time before all bags start leaking, or other bigger problems.
