Default The new catagorys

I notice things are divided for the different Generations.

Why does this say 1st and 2nd gen (1990 -2000)

IT SHOULD READ (1990 - 1997)

And then move all the stuff in this forum that is over those dates to the proper forum.

Timmy has it. The sections were separated that way to refine the discussions to the chassis. The 1-LS and 2-LS are similar unlike the UCF3/LS430 and USF4/LS460.

Oh well it happens, at least I can spell and use the words BRAKES you know the things that stop a car, and BREAKS the thing you do at work for a rest. It seems there are a bunch that just can't get those 2 straight.

You're pretty uppity for a guy who doesn't know how to properly use punctuation and grammar, let alone the generational break-downs for the car he so adamantly loves...

For a guy who's 1st language is not English, I'd say Yamae probably speaks and writes better than 80% of the native-English speakers on this site... There is a world outside 'MURICA! Your(everyone's) poor use of the language makes it hard for those not truly fluent in English to tell the difference from intention and derived stupidity.

Sorry I'm into machines not into lawyer talk. Sorry I'm not as perfect as you would like.
I would just like to know what happened to the post I did here the other night showing what topics we needed to keep things straight on this site.

Gosh others posts are gone too? Why? No bad language or nothing like that. I don't understand?

grammar aside, i know i would definitely be very appreciative if the 98-00 had its own subcategory because it is quite different to the 95-97 in a few key areas

It was more a comment on how those in glass houses shouldn't thrown stones...
The ability to comprehend and be understood should be a goal of everyone.

What other posts? It says you edited your first post last night at like 2:30am...?
Or do you mean another thread?

I suggested a way of breaking up the LS400 forums a while back and sadly there just isnt the traffic to justify it. Splitting the 3 body styles up, or even just Gen1&2, would make the forum traffic screech to a crawl.

And yet the 95-97 and 98-00 still have more in common than the 90-94 and 95-97 cars do. That said, I would have no problem seeing it split into 90-94 and 95-00. If people titled and tagged their threads properly, searching would also be much more efficient!

Guys knock off the personal commentary or exit this thread.

To be clear, there are no new categories. The labels on the existing subforums have just been updated to include more information and make it easier for new members to find the right place to post.

It's a great idea to have different forums for gen1 and gen2 LS, but reality is there is no possible way to segment out the 1st and 2nd gen LS posts because of the way this forum 'grew up' with them all intermingled with just one LS forum. When CL started back in the late 90's, it was primarily a GS model community. Areas for the other models were added later but only got one forum each. The generations were added later as we've grown more organized over time.

90% of the over 21,000 LS threads don't have any identifying year in the title and many have discussion and answers that apply to both. It'll help if everyone puts a more descriptive thread title but unfortunately we're stuck with 1st and 2nd gen LS intermingled. We have the same generation forum issue on a couple of other models (LX and ES).

I found the post. Not sure why, I guess it wasn't on this thread.

Dave touched on the subject titling of posts. When we read through threads for FAQ material this becomes exhaustive to condense threads due to over simplified titles. We may get the bulk yet many don't get proper reference due to poor titles. Initially when there was only one LS, this was easy to reference. 10 years with many similarities that's where we are now.

If you can point us to specific threads then making title adjustments and FAQ references will help.

i mean it is referred to as the 2.5 LS or series IV LS... there's a whole lot that isn't interchangeable
