If the idler is shot its probably wobbling so much that the belt is rubbing on something which is cutting it up. Which, of course, weakened it so it jumped time. Only thing I could think of with your rotor getting eaten up is you might have put it on 180* off, even though there is a notch and tab to prevent that. (Some have done it) If so, it would be on an angle. (Also would trow code 13. You mentioned you changed the wires but those look original to me in the pic. The new belt kit should fix your problems. Make sure you change the cam seals while you're in there.

Those wires are from Standard Motor Parts - came as a full kit from Rockauto - but the rotors they gave me were odd. So I got different ones and those are doin well.
Well all know where code 13 comes from, but every time I checked that junk it was all fine. timing WAS fine, and now that the belt is tore up its not lol
