Hello,
I have about 97,000 miles on my 93 LS400 and need to get the timing belt, water pump, etc done.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the Chicagoland area. Preferably
a place that won't rape me like a dealership would.

You can contact Don Iwinski. He is a mechanic at Lexus of Highland Park and does the work on the side for about 1/2 of what the dealership charges. He can also work on your Supra since he used to work for Toyota for many years. He does all of the service on my Lexus'. He sometimes does the work after hours at the dealership or at his home in Antioch on the weekends. He has a huge garage next to his house set up for everything. You can contact him at the dealership during regular service hours.

Just got a quote from Debbie at that dealer and they told me 625.00 and an additional 342.00 for the water pump.

Bredemann Lexus quoted $1016 for timing belt and water pump.
