the headlights and backlights turn off when i hit my right blinker......then come back on after i turn it off. when i hit my left blinker its fine. when i hit a bump they might go off also but come back on after a couple seconds. the voltmeter reads between 12 and 13 when this happens. both front and back lights go off but the blinker lights work...i am not sure whats going on.....HELP

Must be a problem with the switch or wires to it.

also, when i activate my bright lights by pushing the switch forward to ON, the headlights turn OFF, but if i pull the switch towards me, the brights come ON until i release the switch.....its been like that since i bought the car in Jan. 2014

ok, now today the lights wont even come on. if i pull the BRIGHTS switch i get BRIGHTS. if i hit the left turn switch, the lights come ON. if i hit the right turn switch, they dont come ON. if i push the switch FORWARD, i activate my PARKING/FOG lights.....which i use now to drive at night. my turn signals work regardless

Check the combi-stalk switch. I replaced one on a past Toyota that had worn out causing various intermittent issues. The lights going off over bumps I also suspect a grounding issue and or relay that is not in snugly.

Do the dash lights also come on-off over bumps?
Is the battery securely held in place?
How are the battery cables?

Its the thingy, that you use to turn on and off the head lights, and moves up and down, thus its a combi type switch.

oh i see, thanks dicer. it might be the combi switch. i notice if i jiggle the switch when the fog lights are on the lights will flicker on and off....that might explain the bumps too. a new battery was installed last winter also, battery connection is good.

ok i ordered a used, original combi switch with 30 day warranty for $42, free shipping.....will keep everyone posted

ok, after ordering 3 times off ebay and receiving the wrong part the first two times....i got the correct part the 3rd time! i got a used original Lexus combi switch and wiper switch for $85.....the part is unique because i needed the auto tilt adjust switches also which means all 3 switches are ONE part. had a craigslist mechanic put it on for $75 and EVERYTHING WORKS FINE!! Since i know how to take my column off now...lol....i decided to put the ol' zip tie in column motor gear so now that works now also!
