Question Cant find stock LS430 wheels/ Want to Buy/ How bad are adapters? (Pic)

Hello all.

I've recently become the owner of a 1999 bone stock black on black LS400. Really big fan of these things and I thank the many people on this forum that made me finalize my decision. I've been looking for a set of LS430 stock wheels to recreate this car I saw a while back. Found one set but they need refinishing (big black spots on them) and if im going to drive out of state id rather have a set thats ready to use. Anyone on here selling them?

As a last resort there is a local guy selling LS460 wheels for a good price. Debating on just getting those and using adapters but not sure if its been done before. If anyone on here with experience with 5x114.3 to 5x120 adapters could guide me as far as safety and reliable brands id appreciate it.

Side note if the owner of this LS is on here please contact me. Saw your car in florida a couple months ago

Yeah I can not understand why everyone wants to trash the original wheels? I think ALL the after market stuff looks totally stupid. Good luck hunting. Oh and this is the LS400 forum not the 430 forum.

The OEM 430 wheels are widely sought out. The attrition due to age is another factor in the scarcity of them. The main times you'll find these wheels for sale is by owners who are looking for wheel upgrades. This is generally a small segment because the typical 430 owners don't swap them out. I joke that you'll have to buy a LS430 to get them.

There are replicas available and those would be far easier than hunting down OEM's. Also be careful with OEM wheels from the snow belt regions. Many have pitting and do not hold a good seal for the tire bead so you'll have air leaks to deal with. That applies to the 95-00's as well.

Only a few short years of LS430s had those 18s available so they aren't as easy to come by.

Replicas are perfectly fine for OEM wheels, this company in particular I'm fond of as quality is quite good in my experience. I'm currently running their mustang bullitt reps on my LS.

I would definitely feel more comfortable running the OEWheels reps rather than OEM wheels + adapters.

I still like the 430 wheels (17") better that the 5 spoke on black (and on my white one too)

im running the 7 spoke 17s off a 430 that billy has up above just not chrome on my 99.
Im a stock freak and really like the look of the 16's for 99, (I know boring). My 17's are in great shape with pretty decent dunlop sport 5000's.
i would do a straight up trade if you're interested

same exact place and seller i got mine from about a year ago, they do seem to have gone up in price a tad (still much less than having to buy the whole car though )
