LS430 6-speed transmission on a 2000 LS400

Will a LS430 6-speed transmission will fit on LS400 2000?

I just had the 4sp trans replaced on my '97. I asked the dealer about upgrading to a 5sp from a LS430.

The answer was no due to the ECM. Apparently there's no way for the computer to properly shift the newer trans.

98-00 are 5-speed trans but yes the ECU controls it all and would not be compatible with a non-VVTi engine. the only way to make it work is to run a standalone ECU.
