Modern seats for LS400 ???
Love my 1997 LS400, but the front seats just aren't cutting it for me. I would like to update/upgrade the front seats for more comfort. Are there any new or late model Lexus (or other makes)......
.... that will fit?
....a direct bolt in?
....will fit with custom made brackets?
I'm looking for comfort, support, and luxury. Not interested in aftermarket race seats. Thanks for any suggestions.

I just had the front buckets and rear seats reupholstered with vinyl at a local shop on my 97 Coach Edition. The material looks and feels so much like leather - it's unbelievable. Total cost was $1200.
I had them build up the foam on the sides of the buckets and it made a huge difference. Whenever I park it I think "damn, I've got to get out of this seat!"

You really don't find the LS400 seats comfy? maybe some really worn out foam in yours.
I'd go the route of just getting new foam from another seat, that'll make a huge difference if yours is high mileage and really worn out (heavy driver?)
Maybe you could find a set in the junkyard that'll fit from something else you like more (perhaps without the springy seat that LS has) I'd check the rails but a SC400 might be better or something like a Camry?

As someone else suggested, you can try getting them reupholstered. i had 96 ls400 torn leather swapped with brand new vinyl on both front seats, center console, and back seats. the entire thing costed me $900 and that included new foam for all the seats. Definitely look around though. i got multiple quotes and the highest was for about $1,600. Also look at the persons current work and check the stitching too.
Check out my pics from my previous posts. Id say the stock seats in the LS are comfy.

Thanks for the responses. My seats are in fantastic condion. 1997 LS400 with 82k miles and garaged its whole life. Seats just not to my liking for long term comfort. I think there are a lot more comfortable seats out there. Not interested in rebuilding mine wih new foam.... Looking for something else I can out put in there. Nothing urgent, but wanted to know if anyone already knows of something that would work.... I will check other vehicles as time permits. Thanks, again. Any more info? Keep it coming.

Not sure if gs seats fit but my gs seats are very comfortable
Test drive an ls430 apparently you can retrofit their seat into your car

You can make them work, but I doubt they will bolt right up. I swapped 2001 LS430 seats into my 94 LS400, and got every function working. On a scale from 1-10 difficulty, I'd rate it at 4.

Good suggestion. Most upholstery shops can contour the foam and use different foams to get the feel and look you want.
