HUGE electrical heart attack!!!
where do i begin....
just bought this car haven't done 10ks in it yet (from Australia) and i got out one day started up the car and noticed this
no head/parker lights BUT if you go to flash high beam they work
no power windows
no back lighting for dash
no central locking
no inside lights
no tacho
no radio
aircon works and the fans
fuel gauge works all tho its hard to see
no warning lights except for alternator light witch was there before this all happened (just has a stuck brush by the sounds of it)
it still starts runs drives and everything
this has me a bit stumped I've checked the fuses in it they all seem good does any one have any ideas on what this could be

Check the trunk hinge wiring harness first. Tends to fray and cause havoc on 1st gens. Drivers side of the trunk.
Side note JIC: visual fuse checks will suffice in most cases. But sometimes there is a tiny hairline break in the connection which can't b seen by the naked eye.

The car may have been trying to tell you that something was wrong with the alternator. I would check that first as it has everything to do with the electrical system. For instance, not enough charge and the battery goes low. A rectifier diode goes out and you have lost a phase or more A/C on the system than should be. Get the alternator (charging system) checked out first. That is where I would begin.

If it started up ok, my suspicion is the alternator is dying-dead. That dash light was the warning and usually it also comes on the with battery and parking brake light. Some may vary by region though. For good measure also check the wiring harness on the trunk lid as suggested.

all sorted there was 2 problems
1: some genius decided to hook the jumper leads on the wrong way around....
2: a different genius decided the fuses where all fine... i don't know how he tested the fuses but i found 6 popped ones all fixed now alternator is all washed out and working again all electrics working perfect like a new car
moral of the story if your going to do a job do it yourself thanks anyways
