Default Built In FM Transmitter - Anyone Try?

What are your thoughts on this for the Nakamichi crowd that either want to add aux input or are feeling post purchase dissonance with after market conversions (yes my sub and amp work, but still it doesn't sound like a Nakamichi).

this type of FM modulators is horrible for sound quality, due to the way FM radio works the frequency range gets clipped.

I recommend a hard-wire, i've got a pretty detailed post on how to do it for minimal cost.

I might be willing to "donate" my 2000 LS400 Nakamichi head unit to someone who wants to disassemble it and see how Factory Radio Service in California installed a 3.5mm aux-in on the back of it and a push-button on/off switch on the front. Until the right channel failed (again), the aux-in provided absolutely CD quality sound.

If anybody wants an aux-in professionally added to an OEM radio, I highly recommend Factory Radio Service: http://factoryradioservice.com/

Their work was flawless.and relatively inexpensive. Others on this forum have also had them add aux-in's to their head units..

Hey Kansas, I'm so glad you kept your factory stereo. I'd love to take it off your hands. The cassette player in my 95 is failing (rare no CD) and my wife's 2000 platinum has the Nak sound system. How much do i owe ya? I would love to add an AUX input to both cars.

Thanks!
Omar

would you be willing to break it open and reverse engineer the aux and switch? that should be a stipulation if you buy kansas' HU .
