K&N back in!
I'm experimenting more with the K&N filter.
A quick 0-60 stopwatch run gave me two consecutive 9.1 times. Definetly not good. My g-tech stopped working out of no where so I'll have to call them tomorrow for support.
But..I'm going to try out Jbrady's theory that the heat is causing the slow.
I'm also thinking of cutting the mouth on the MAF filter adapter so that it's not such a sharp transition from inside the filter to the MAF opening.
I put some thin cardboard inbetween the engine area and the air filter area and left the stock top filter housing cover on. It's definetly cooler with that stuff in there.
Maybe I'll try to make a cold air box and find another place to pipe air from.

Why dont you try to move the MAF back about 2-4 inches and use the K&N filter. The stock location of the MAF is too close to the open and cause a lot of turbuline (Spelling). I would recommend take the whole OEM intake out and get some mendral bend piping and hoses. Moving the MAF back your solution to stable idling and more power.

Where do I get piping like this made?
I'm going to try using closed cell foam like Peter Scott did on his SC around the intake airea to try and seal it up.
I think a lot or (none?) vaccum would be good but it's hard to do that.
It would be much easier with the stock filter housing to completely seal it.
