I top off with the Walmart Super Tech. Because this is a few oz at most this is of minimal significance in my mind. I'll let someone else run a full pan of Super Tech for 8-10K and report back. I may use it in the Corolla and do an analysis for curiosity sake.

I use it in the lawnmowers and the one I gave away was still going strong. No oil consumption that I notice. I'm neglectful with the lawn mower since it is supposed to be changed at periodic intervals and I don't. That one has had Super Tech 5-30 in it for about 9 years now. Thinking about it, I better get my backside out there and drain it. The Toro was $$ and killing it would be.

Mobil1 isn't a company it's a brand.

Supertech is made by several manufacturers depending on type and region. Warren and Exxon Mobil both make supertech oil, but there's no proof at all that is' the same or similar formula to any of the Mobil1 products.

These are graded oils so this comes back to performing the maintenance as called for by the manual. When one pushes the additive package beyond the intervals this is where you'll learn how good of a performer they are. Use the Super Tech at the 5-6K range and it will be of minimal consequence. Any contemplating this would be suggested to have an analysis done to know how it does in your car for the miles used.

I would encourage everyone to go read Motor Oil 101 at BobIsTheOilGuy.com

then read the PQIA tests

you might very well change what motor oil you use!

here are the Pennzoil engineers taking a grilling from engineers at BiTOG, and their answers will provide some technical insight on why Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 is the best oil you can buy for your LS400

www.bobistheoilguy.com/pennzoil-q-a/

The really cool part is, the new Pennzoil Ultra formulation will soon be released to you local Wal-Mart, so prices will be reasonable for the motor oil that tends to smoke the NOA and UOA analysis among all oils over the last several years.

According to that Q&A, it won't be sold in 5qt jugs though. Walmart will have it, but only in 1qt bottles.
