Dash cluster lights out. Fuel Tach Speedo Temp only
93 LS400. My lights are out behind the fuel tach speedo and temp guages only. I believe this happened when my battery ran low and we had to jump it. I think they went out during the surges in power.
Two pics showing the lights out. One as I turn the key and the other as the engine is running.
I have checked all fuses in the two locations under hood and under steering column.
Is this common? Did I short something out in the cluster?
Engine idle
Turn key

The First gen FAQ has some reading about the dash cluster.

I did search. I made sure I did that before posting. For probably two hours. Searched LS400 forums for key words:
DASH
CLUSTER
LIGHTS
OUT
etc..
Every issue is different than mine
I've already had my cluster repaired a couple years ago when it was flickering especially when coldand the needles were losing illumination. This is not the same thing.
OK 0 with more reading now I see "NO BACKLIGHTING" actually is one of the common issues and I'm guessing capacitor related..........will continue searching to see

Here you go: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...eedle-fix.html
For your model (93-94), there are 3 capacitors to replace as laid out on in the link.

Ok
BBA-REMAN fixed my cluster a couple years ago.
Before I conclude that I need to fix the capacitors I thought it was uncommon that my back lighting went from working perfect to not working at all right around the time I was trying to jump my car with low battery.
I thought the back lighting capacitors typically failed slowly and we're temperature sensitive.
Just want to be sure I don't overlook something more obvious if it nay not be the capacitors. Can someone comment with their experience/thoughts thanks

This is not related to the capacitor repair. We can fix this issue. Call or send us a message.
