Engine seal kit
Hey guys, I'm having the timing belt replaced on the 97 LS4 next week and just wanted to ask everyone what seal kit to use, or the best place to order individual seals..etc. I am not very technically savvy so if someone can provide the part #s that would be great.
After some forum browsing I have ordered the Aisin TKT-030 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump, however It does not come with the crank/camshaft seals.
I was going to give the dealer a call, but its already pass their work hours.
So far I have found a Dayco kit from partsgeek but I am a little hesitant since I have never dealt with Partsgeek.

OH , just FYI (not sure if it matters or not) but the dealer told me my car is from Canada. lol ..
So I need 2 cam seals and 1 crank seal, correct?

Correct, 2 cam and 1 crank. I would check www.rockauto.com for the kit and seals or one of the online Lexus parts dealers. Sewell or Lexus of South Atlanta. Even Amazon should have what you need.

For the crank seals, the package says " Front" .. so that means I need a rear as well right? Or does the product include everything I need?
and this is the camshaft one...
I have verified with rockauto part #s that the parts on amazon are legit.

Depends. If I were you I'd do the full drain via the two drain ***** on the bottom of the engine block.Be very careful though as the drain ***** are very fragile and best not to force them. You'll be surprised at all the grime that flushes out.You will need more than two gallons of the concentrate and cut it 50/50 with distilled water from any super market.Might be better to buy the coolant locally as the freight via Sewell will be high.Make sure you buy Toyota seals.Good luck.

Here are the Toyota part numbers for the crank and cam seals;Crank-90311-38036,Cam-90311-A0001(need two).Toyota referes to them as: "oil seals".You can try a Toyota dealer but from my experience when you say"Lexus" they will charge you full retail price.Good luck.Mixed up the part numbers, sorry for the confusion.

i found that buying 1 gallon of toyota 'red' antifreeze was enough since you double it with distilled water. if you can spare the money, get 2 gallons just in case.

He said there was no information in the lexus system about my car, except I found some old paperwork of the car being taken to lexus dealers for repairs.
I don't really care to be honest.

the rear main seal requires removal of the transmission, which is not part of a typical timing belt job! just get all the front seals (2 cams and 1 crank).

$29 dollars at the Lexus dealer for a gallon. I will probably buy 2 just in case. The Toyota dealer has a coupon on their site for 10% off parts, which is nice so I just might make a trip there.
