I really have not seen anything like this before. It makes me question the integrity of the whole dash display connections.

When the door(s) is open , the oil light comes.. when the door(s) is closed, the oil light turns off.

The door ajar indication (if one even exists ) NEVER comes on! .. I actually kind of like it. LOL ..very unique!

What do you guys think is up with this? 1997 LS4

The only door ajar light is in the notification center in the dash. Tells you which door is open or the trunk or moonroof. Besides that there is no other door ajar light.

Hmm yes I will post a pic later today! It's the oil level low indication on the dash..except that it tells me when my doors are open instead.

you better start with your ground cable and clean and insure you have good grounds at every location you can find.. some how when you open the door it is creating a ground for the system (every thing I said might be crazy, but I have seen loose cables to stupid things)..

Does it happen when you open any of the doors or just the drivers door?

Any door, Light goes away when all doors are properly shut. Just think of it as a functioning DOOR AJAR light.. it's doing exactly the same thing, except it's the oil light.

small video?? Because there is a door ajar light. and that sure as hell aint it lol

I would make a video, but it's easier just to imagine the door opening and closing with the light doing the function of the door ajar light.
