Default Head rest question

On a 92, head rest has one position, that is extended. Looked in the holes on the driverside seat and the one to the left has what looks like a small reduced diameter flange at the bottom of the hole that will not let it go down. Any info on this?

Yes it will not go down. Basically its just one position, there is like a reduced diameter hole that stops it as mentioned above.

Is there a tab at the top of the seat that you have to push in to release the headrest?

Yeah I have to push both them, need 3 hands pretty much. That all works. Its still that restriction in the LH hole on driver seat anyway didn't look at pass seat. It won't go down either. I really don't get it. And yes both the latches that hook the shafts work if they didn't I couldn't get the whole head rest off.

Are both poles on the headrest the same size? Maybe try to switch the headrests around btw seats.

Okay these seats must be out of an older one???? The rear seat has the correct button on the side to lower the head rests. The front seats have just the 2 plastic grommet looking things you have to push down both at same time to disengage the head rest, also the posts only have one notch, I looked at another 92 it had correct button and post had extra notches. So what seats or seat backs are these?

Yes they did. I didn't expect it, just a bit more studying, just haven't spent much time around em. Step son drives a 90 I just fix it when it breaks.

Cell phone is 12 years old no camera its a phone. Problem solved. 1992's do have electric powered head rest as an option, its also in the shop manual
