1993 LS400 Electrical Problems
Ok, I have seen certain variations of electrical problems on the 1stGen LS400, but none that is exactly what I am experiencing. Hoping I can submit my problems to the gurus here and get a solution. Here goes:
At around the same time, the instrument display panel, telescoping steering wheel, and sunroof/windows all stopped working. The display panel will come on at random, but the windows/sunroof and steering wheel still don't function.
Has anyone else experienced all of these issues at once? I see a lot of info on the ECU capacitors needing to be replaced in order to solve the display panel issue, but would that solve the window issue also?

yes
I am also experiencing some what of the same problem. I am such an idiot, I hook up my battery backwards and now my windows and instrument panel doesn't work. I was able to get the windows working, with fuse #13. I have not been able to get the instrument panel working. I will need to run more test.

Check all fuses under the dash and under the hood.. Not just a visual inspection, sometimes there are really tiny breaks in the fuse and u can't see them with the naked eye..
If that's all good, check the trunk hinge wiring.. Sits on the drivers side near the tail lights if I'm not mistaken which I might b as I'm just relaying information I've read here on the forums..
The ecu caps should be replaced regardless of whether or not you think it's the culprit. I don't think they control the windows though.
