Default Looking for a moon-lighting Lexus Service Tech

I just took my lexus in for a 30k service visit. Although I love the LS400 and the service rendered is acceptable, the prices are too damn high.

I'm looking for a Lexus Service tech in the Dallas, Texas area who wants to work on the side. He/she can probably make double what Lexus pays them and I'll still pay significantly less.

Just so you know, any Toyota certified technician & master tech can work on a Lexus on the side if they truly do know Toyota engines.

So, if you can't first find a Lexus tech in your area who wants to work on the side then try a Toyota tech. Hope that helps.

Just curious (since I've just bought my first LS400).
What did they do and how much did they charge?

Thanks,
Tex

Well i know this Toyota Master Mechanic who owns a garage where he works mostly on toyotas on the side.Toyota charges around $70/hr and this guy charges around $30/hr.To give you an idea, here's what i had done to my 92 V6-XLE ( 125,000 miles)
1)-Timing and other belts changed
2)-Water pump changed
3)-Front Wheel bearing replaced (Labor & Parts)
4)-Coolant flushed
5)-Front rotors turned
6)-Rear rotors turned & replaced the Brake pads ( parts included)
7)-Power steering fluis replaced
8)-Brake fluid replaced
Totoal cost $940,though seems high but don't forget the wheels bearings He just installed few things in my Supra TT like,C's short throw shifter, front and rear TRD sway bars along with Carbon fiber rear upper Cusco strut brace for only $200.I asked him about working on the LX-470 that i just bought and he said no problem.Hope it helps.
Later, Yasir
