Default LS400 Track car styling

Has anyone ever built or seen an ls400 done up or built in a DTM/BTCC/GT fashion?

I remember growing up watching the DTM cars of the 90s. Mercedes w202 and 190e cars dominated.

I just wondered if anyone had tried to give the ls400 the same treatment.

Say 18x10.5 F/R with 295/30s and a 5 or 6 speed swap

I'm pretty sure this has been done. Just look in the build threads sub-forum on the first page.

haven't seen it done, but i was actually considering going to that "style" recently. not necessarily DTM style, which they ran 20s, centerlock, and such, but time attack track style.

The w202 Mercedes ran 18x10 all the way around.

Go for it!

It will be a 100% custom job though as there are no off the shelf body parts to duplicate that look! The up side is all the "stance" custom arms and such are also perfect for such a setup to dial in the right suspension geometry to actually build a potent car.

There are a few who have done 5spd swaps, so a 6speed should not be much harder.
Build some custom long tube headers and a full exhaust and you'll at least sound the part!

It's all possible, just need someone to do it!

I have done some crazier **** so why not.

Will do a z34 6speed swap and redo the exhaust. Will also be ordering 18x10.5 rpf1s with 295/30 r888s. Figure then I'll gut it, cage it, megasquirt it with a racepak dash, and then proceed to do the body work and drop it.

If it ain't quick enough, supra tt auto rear diff guts and a 4.7 bottom end.

There is one person who's doing a track-oriented build. Not sure what his name is on here, but he has a white UCF10 with orange Varrstoens. Recently picked up some wide Pilot Sports, and chucked a supercharger on, and downgraded from a 150-shot to 100-shot on his Nitrous Express setup. Thing looks MEAN.

Love the plans. I'm in the planning stages now of doing something similar. Have an LS1 with T-56 in the garage. Been trying to figure out where I could find an auto TT diff.

Couple of them on supraforums.

Im talking with my body guy about doing a metal widebody so we can try and get the car low and still run 295s on 18x10.5 +15s

if that's the case you won't want the TT diff as it'll be torsen and too high a gear for hte 6spd. You'll want a later LS/GS/SC (400/430) 3.266:1 rear end, and an actual (kaaz, trd, etc...) mechanical clutch LSD.
