New to me, 1995 LS400. ~105K. Super clean condition.
i noticed the keyfob is a bit slow to unlock the doors but quick to lock.
I switched battery thinking that was culprit...still same. I have to lean on key for a few seconds. Never has been instant.

suggestions if this can be quickened up?

Just be happy you have the key fob and it still works. I high doubt you can do anything about it unless you can take the thing apart entirely and re-solder joints and what not maybe it will work better. Maybe your LS400 was just always like that.

I don't have the fob for my 97 and I get along just fine.

At what distances is this working slow? Lock has been very quick though I suspect that unlock may be done that way to be deliberately actuated by the owner. I do press unlock a bit longer than unlock.

I don't know if this affects Lexus remotes, but sometimes the rubber button membrane leaches out an oily, gummy substance that semi-insulates the carbon contact on the membrane with the PCA contact grid. I have a few GM Lear remotes that require periodic cleaning when their function gets lazy.

Yes, distance has a lot to do with it as does a weak battery. There are a lot of new button cells that sit on the racks for a while that don't last very long. I've ordered buttons cells from Amazon and ebay that have been DOA. It's hard to find fresh button cells. If anything, avoid those Chinese unknown branded batteries. Renata button cells are made in Switzerland but they're notorious leakers.
