Just crashed my 90 LS400
some of u might know me on here. i got a clean ls400 a few months ago. i dotn rreally stay that active on here but i just hit my ls400. i was running late for work so i called in. as soon as i looked down to end the call for a second i look up slam the breaks but its to late. im in the back of there venza. how bad does the damage look. i need this car to get around. my dad can help me fix it. how much do you think the cost will be? the alternators leaking i think. i havent really checked it out. i just left the car in a parking lot nd got picked up. the car starts up just fine nd runs fine but obviously cant be driven no fluids. im hoping theres not much wrong with it when me nd my dad go look at it. hopefully i can get it back on the road within 2 weeks. even if its ugly at least be able to be driven around. the fenders are fine. the hood grill the bar in front its bent in the fans are bent in. it was leaking fluids. what looks wrong from the pics nd how much damage do you think it is. is it even worth fxin the car now?

yep need pics that your are referencing.
alternators don't leak. the power steering fluid reservoir is right above the alternator so you might think it's coming from the alternator but most likely you damaged the radiator so coolant is leaking. what color is the fluid?
i hope a lesson was learned here as well...hard lesson.

It's hard to tell without seeing the front support under the hood but I have seen worse, new rad, condenser. fans at the very least if your able to bend some metal back into basic shape, throw a hood, grill and headlamp assemblies in before your done.
If I were faced with that I would be looking for a parts car, the parts individually could ad up pretty fast. I'm a new Lexus owner but I'm getting the idea that things are not cheap.
Thankfully you were not hurt, thankfully you were not following a motorcycle. It's a tough way to learn that phones and cars do not mix in any combination. CL is probably a great next step unless you have a U-pull-it style scrap yard in your area.

Since 1gen LS is not that expensive these days, and yours has many things out of shape, bent and/or broken, I would sell this one for parts, and buy another one, to save time and headaches. Or keep this one as your parts car, and buy another LS and fix it using parts from this one. Much easier than having to deal with who-knows how many bent or borken clips and things that hold headlights, bumper, cooling system and other things.
