Please advise.
Toyota has completely changed the design and the one for a LS430 is totally different. The function is included in the other unit called a multiplex rear junction computer. I once have seen the way how to modify the circuit in the Net but I can't find it today.

It's not me who succeeded and all I can do is just to introduce you above. You need to understand above asking for a good help to someone who is capable to understand it.

Where did you get your tails from?

I posted my own method which is simpler and easier for earlier UCF31 and 31. It is at the LS430 forum below.

Just got my, new to me, 2000 Platinum on the road after 90K service (@102,800M). Installed led tail lamp bulbs, clipped the described resistor. This worked as advertised.

Official Thank you to Yamae!

Sorry to drag up a thread this old, but thanks was in order!

glad i stumbled upon this thread, ive had the tail lamp failure notification coming up as long as i've owned the vehicle.

I'll have to try this out to get rid of it, plus i plan on getting chasing LED tails at some point

This was jogged by another thread which had me curious. Is there a means to modify this sensor module so that it retains proper function with LED type replacements? Would this render the module ineffective if going back to incan bulbs?

The mod makes it so the sensor box does nothing but pass power through it, no matter the bulb used it won't current sense and tell you if any are not working.
