Default I Pulled the Trigger - 98 LS with 97k miles

Finally! I have my LS upgrade after 8 months of searching.

1998 Diamond White
Tan Leather
97k miles
New tires
Chrome wheels (96 model, installed at original sale by dealer)
Navigation (slightly less useful than my old palm pilot but at least updated by dealer)
Full service records including TB/WP service at 92k.

Paid 7700 and she will be delivered to my garage next week.

The only work I am going to do is condition the leather, wax her and change out those gold emblems for silver.

Will keep my black 96 as a daily driver, this garage queen MIGHT get 3k miles a year put on her (wife says i am crazy)

Congrats on the 98. With a nice car, I'd drive it. That's the joy of enjoying what your hard earned $ buys.

Congrats, I would drive her everyday, why garage her? It's not like the car is a Ferrari or rare porsche
Just enjoy her men and drive her

Congrats on the purchase... sounds like you're going to cherish her...
Do the clay bar first, then wax.... you'll really be pleased with the results...
Then put her in the garage...
and don't forget a battery tender if she's going to sit for a bit...

More power to you but I don't understand why you would stuck it in the garage. You can't really appreciate it by only driving it 3k a year. Just my pinion though.

One of our buddy's with a 360 Modena -has- to drive it. The hoses don't do well left sitting. Either way when the time or miles come up, it needs service. He figured no point in keeping it in the garage if it is going to cost him anyhow. It is rotated with his DD and I must say, it is the dirtiest Ferrari I have ever seen. To him, that's what hard work is for, to enjoy driving them.

Nice car. I was obsessed with wanting one of these for a long, long time. I eventually got three newer LS's but never experienced this particular generation - which I've never heard a single bad thing about...

I do not doubt the temptation, but I have several other cars for a DD including my 96 and a Jag S Type. I think I will get more out of detailing her every weekend.

great find and wow 8 months, phew! time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

as for the gold emblem to chrome swap, i spent a pretty penny as each emblem was at least $20 from sewell. they sell "LS" and "400" emblems separately. then finding OEM center caps took a while too! there are too many non-OEM caps out there so be aware.

Boy, I could never wait 8 months, that is why I have owned 5 99's, I just go buy them and if they fail to meet my standard, I sell them and get another one.... if they look nice and run good, I am on them like a chicken on a june bug, but then they have to not have any hidden secrets show up... old men are funny like that. see my cars I have owned below...
