Default Help please - will it go to 250K miles?

ive always wanted an ls400... i live in canada and i found a 2000 lexus ls400 with 230,000 km (140,000 miles) for 6500$ canadian (6000 american).... i currently drive about 500km (300miles) a day... how likely is it that i can take this thing up to 400,000km (250,000 miles)??? is it worth buying ??? thank you for your help

my 99 has 239K now, it got the first timing belt at Sewell at 130K, and I plan on 250K for the 2nd... unless it leaks..

Yes, do it! 500km a day-what are you, a courier?
Mine has 330k and shows no signs of needing any mechanical work

My 91 LS400 has 330,000 miles. I'm not going to lie: without a doubt THE most reliable car I have ever owned. By most reliable I mean how many times has it failed to start and get me from point A to point B (never), how many times a major component has failed (never). It still has the original starter, alternator, transmission, engine, axles. The things that have been replaced have been items that have failed simply due to wear and tare or age (all bushings, air shocks, timing belt, water pump, fan belt). I had to replace the driver side door handle, lol. because of how many time this car has been entered and exited from! I will NEVER buy another car untill this one decides it wants to die. So far, it looks like it is going to be a while. At that point, I will give it proper burial, and go out and buy another Lexus LS.

I bought my car for 1000. the odometer stopped working at 217k. It leaked out of everything and smoked down the rode and caught fire a fire times. After putting the money into the neglected maintenance on the car, ive logged over 3600 miles since then. This thing is a TANK. It will not die. very comfortable, smooth power delivery and just overall the most fun ive ever had in a car. I truly think its one of the best engineered cars on the road today. i am looking to buy a second one here soon for the wife.

I have had 2 LS 400s and about to buy another... both surpassed 250k like it was 100k. 250k to a IUZFE engine is the midpoint of life if well cared for.

Seriously... there is perhaps NO other gas engine as over engineered or reliable as that of the LS.

300 miles a day? That is one HELL of a commute!

Get it. It'll be alot better than pulling 300 miles a day in a Toyota Tercel
